You know, looking at your high scores... I need to give this more attention, especially since you mentioned Neurosis. I listened to this album once and it seemed to do nothing at all for me.
To be honest... sludge is a style that seems to be hit-or-miss with me. I absolutely love Battle of Mice (anyone remotely fan of the style needs to hear this band) but other than that, I'm not much into the whole "new" sludge wave (spearheaded by the likes of Isis, Pelican and Cult of Luna)... I tend to prefer the older, "classic" sludge bands like Neurosis and Crowbar... but please, leave out the disaster that was Kingdom of Sorrow (Kirk really messed that one up)...
I think I'll maybe try Burst's 2005 album and see what happens.
The trick with Burst is to go in expecting it to be more than Sludge. I heard Origo back when it was out, and went in expecting a Hardcore band. Progressive Sludgecore? I don't know, you decide. I've been listening to Lazarus Bird for a while, and it does take a few plays before it unfolds, but when it does... excellent, excellent album.
