For me this is the best metal album of the year so far... I just love how non-cheesily retro it is, even the lyrics remind me of Ian Anderson's tricky rhyming. The August Engine is even better though since it just "feels" more complete.

i'm listening to "trot out the dead" and it's really good. the vocals work very well (both male and female). i'll get back to you after i'm done with the rest.

EDIT - i didn't like "we are the widows" (too muany female vocals), "you should have sla..." (the complete title won't come up) is... not for me. the other song on myspace always froze halfway through.

I have to got to quit this reviewing gig and hand it over to you. I have been struggling all weekend to find the right word to describe this album and failed. RETRO, thank you noodles.
