I completely agree with your review. I guess even Pestilence can't break much new ground in death metal anymore. It's a decent album but certainly not the one I wanted to hear. I'd take Spheres over this anytime, personally.

Even though it's not the comeback many were hoping for, I still want to get my hands on it. Probably my next online purcahse will include this album.

I haven't heard this enough to really give my 2 cents on how it sounds though...

This release kicks ass. It ranks right up there with Consuming Impulse and shits all over Testimony and Spheres. I just wish Patrick Uterwijk would have been on it. His lead guitar work is definitely missed here. I'd give it an 88 based on that.

At least I know who actually played on the album. Massive hint: his first name is Patrick and his surname starts with 'Uter' and ends with 'wijk'. And better than Testimony?! Facepalm.

According to their MySpace page, Uterwijk is part of the band but did NOT play on the new material. He will be part of the touring
unit though. No need for the face palm.

Hm, it appears you are right there, my mistake. I'll update the review.

You're wrong about RM being better than Testimony, though.

That's your opinion. You have a right to have one. I just found Testimony and Spheres disappointing after Consuming Impulse.
Consuming is possibly the most brutal release ever. Though Asphyx
The Rack is pretty close.
