The Gathering > Within Temptation > Lacuna Coil

I judged the albums by what they're trying to be. The Gathering did an Atmospheric/Prog album, Lacuna Coil just did their Pop Metal thing, and did better. Come on, they're very different bands.

They're both in the "bitches metal" division...

Another useless post. Yeah, let's pigeonhole bands and work out the genre from sexism! Anyone that's ACTUALLY HEARD the last albums from The Gathering and Lacuna Coil, post here. Everyone else, learn to speak of only what you know.

I've heard them and I still stand by what I say.

LC as far as a female fronted band is not as good as the others regardless on what type of metal they play.

And where do you get sexism from it isn't sexism at all.

And I think you're one sided Zad. Just because they're females doesn't mean it's sexism. If they were guys we wouldn't be having this conversation but oh no they have tits and a clit we can't say anything because they're female oh no no no heaven forbid.

What's wrong with the feminist movement? The sexism issue here is that assumptions are immediately made about the band simply because of the sex of the singer, whether good or bad.

MetalStorm, he's saying that lumping two very different bands together just because they both have women singers is sexist. Which it probably is, albeit it quite minorly.

Be that as it may, however, I don't see a problem comparing West Pole and this one. A few years ago, LC and TG were very similar musically. They evolved in completely different directions (well, TG evolved, anyway), but that only makes the comparison more interesting.
