Anybody else cut theirs themselves? I've just finished doing mine and I'm quite happy with it, although I can't usually tell how good it really is for a couple of weeks. Usually I cut it to about shoulder length (like now) and cut it a few months later.

I find the idea of paying somebody to cut my hair offensive!

LOL why you do you find it offensive when someone cuts your own hair? As long as they do a good job it's all good.

i wonder if metalheads with short hair are a lot more common in America as opposed to Europe.

I was a long haired "metal head" for the longest time, but when I started working with my dad I cut my hair. So now I am a short haired "metal head".

I did the long hair until I wanted to find a new job. Now, I want long hair but I can't tolerate that growing stage where it isn't long; it is just shaggy. Ugh shaggy hair is retarded.

yeah, that's the stage thats the worst. also the last two times i've decided to grow my hair, i've just gotten past it when i've though "actually i kinda want it short again" so then i cut it off.

i have have two friends or my mom who like cutting my hair, so i get them to do it. it's extremely free and ends up decent. i always hate my hair for like two weeks after it gets cut, but i tried going to a good barber a month or so ago and i got the same feeling.

Long hair is the only way to go... keep mine about shoulder length, slightly layered; the missus handles the clipping, fuck paying for a haircut. Short hair with a beard looks lame.

I had long hair. Once. Then started losing it like crazy and being bored of the fucking ape staring back at me in the mirror. Had a long beard too.


Now I look like I work in a fucking bank. You wouldn't be able to tell I spend 23 out of 24 hours listening to metal. But hey, at least washing it is easy.

Short hair, here. Makes headbanging less fun but at least people sit down next to you on the bus without fidgeting uncomfortably.

Yeah I really miss headbanging without having a sore neck for 2 days afterwards.

I buzz cut my own hair (what's left of it anyway). The last time I had long hair was nearly ten years ago (fuck! I just realised that only now).

I cut mine 2 months ago after 4 long years.

I pay 15 bucks a month.

It's so damn expensive to get a hair-cut here.. Like 30 pounds at least. Therefore I just cut it all away myself when it's long enough.. Gonna save a little now though..

I only get mine cut roughly every 4-5 months, unless i want something done with it before then. Longest its ever been is around 2cm above my shoulder. At the moment I have it around level with my chin.

I have short hair since I'd like to keep my job (and my wife).

I cut it myself, very simple and I get to keep my money for better things, like booze.

I have long hair, I almost never cut it except for trimming split ends twice a year, and that only costs me 20 francs.

That's the stage I am at the moment. Pretty annoying.

I'd long hair once, but I feel way more comfortable with short hair. The long hair fashion is getting old, like corpsepaint. More a more metal-heads are using short hair nowadays. About time!
