i differ with this opinion in that I find Rammstein to be very very boring compared to other bands in a similar genre.

I got back into them recently. Well worth revisiting.

Eh, I find them hard to compare, but in the end I guess I like Rammstein a little more. I think their songs are stronger, and the German sounds awesome.

Still, apples and apple's distant german cousin, twice removed.

Exactly. Manson is for posers, his schtick is tiresome, all that almost Satanist image he has is just so the MTV 'rockers' can feel hardcore while listening to his albums. Probably how Frigid get spinning this between Nickleback and (Jesus fucking Christ) Mudvayne.

Alice Cooper and King Diamond (the next logical step) are way, way superior.

Generally those that toss out words like "poser" are actually the posers. When someone looks at the music someone listens to and determines their "cool" status based on it, they're a fucking poser, a trend-following turd.

Just sayin'...

Yeah, of course, that's it. People who don't listen to Slipknot, Mudvayne. Korn, Manson, etc are the real posers. Asshat.

Mutter is an absolutely awesome album, and I haven't heard the others enough but I remember Rosenrot being enjoyable.

I really need to check that shit out!

And in the eyes of those people, "true" metalheads are the posers, because they all have the torn jeans and the band shirt and the long hair and the 'hur hur we're tough attitude'. And before you say I'm generalising, think what you are doing about the fans of Slipknot, Manson, etc. It all just goes in a circle.

The whole poser-stuff is just flat-out idiotic... No-one should be judged by their taste in music and looked upon as lesser individuals because of it

Yes... and Herzeleid after. Then, Reise, Reise.

Rosenrot is boring & forgettable, imo.

Funny, I do tend to judge, say, those wearing Bullet For My Valentine shirts, or the occassional 8-ft goth types you see with leather coats, outrageous hairstyles and HIM t-shirts.

That's different. That's judging someone by the image they want to give off. I like BFMV but I'd never wear a t-shirt of theirs. Same with Paramore and Nickelback. I don't want to associate myself with that particular subculture or indicate that I hold those musical values to be important enough to merit ostentatious display.

Well its odd, I noticed yesterday that unless EVERYTHING I'm wearing is 'rock' then I don't look like a metalhead now...it seems long hair made my usual clothes look more metal...
