Trivium have like melody and riffs that sound good though. the only time that song has any melody is the quiet part (which is actually pretty cool) and the guitar leads, and all the riffs are like CHUGCHUGSQUEALCHUG SQUEAL CHUGCHUG or wanky arpeggios

Sounds like a mix of Meshuggah (vocally), Gorguts and some other shit.

Aside the really shitty production, this is not so bad. God. I can name 1000 shittier death metal bands.

If you don't like the style no wonder you won't like this one, since it's a genre where everything has to be perfectly polished and this one def isn't.

doesn't sound any worse than many soulless technical metal bands out there.

what baffles me is how people can listen to "songs" from the axis of perdition, or just about any ambient music for that matter. seriously. it's fucking... horror elevator music or something.

yes i'm a close minded asshole.

The Locust are way worse. That wasn't even that bad. Just messy and uninspired.

Just think of like a 40 minute album of that.

I'd say most power metal, most pop-goth metal and even a lot of folk metal make me wonder why people bother.

Haha! maybe... or maybe it was just the terrible over-exposure to dragonforce that has turned me against anything even approaching that type of sound.

Dragonforce is far from being the best PM band.
Imho, it's the worse of the popular ones.

Just because no-one can listen to Dragonforce for more than five minutes at a time without going mental doesn't make them that bad...

I suppose having that effect is quite a skill, in a way.
