A really schizo one.

What I wouldn't give to take a census of that crowd.

Well, they're not similar bands but it's for a similar audience, no? The sort of hipster-y fan that enjoys vegan death/grind, Priestess' stoner stuff (if I remember 'em right) and they probably like GWAR because of Irony or something.

Round here shows are rarely ever targeted towards the same audience, you'll get a shitty mish mash in a bad attempt to bring in more people.

I'm going to see that May 9 and that lineup has had me pissed for a few weeks now. I would kill for Priestess to be replaced by Pig Destroyer and Gwar by something that wasn't so gimmicky. I refuse to give Gwar any unnecessary lip service. I do respect what they do; it's just that they aren't good. But Cattle Decapitation!!! I can't wait to buy a shirt with a cow curbstomping a guy. I also need to buy their new album.

lulz, the first thing I thought when I read the thread title was the song by 28 Days with Apollo 44. Ahh, takes me back. heh.

I'd love to go that. I'm not familiar with Priestess' stuff, but fucking Cattle Decap! and GWAR would put on a fun show.

I saw Priestess open up for Converge who opened up for Mastodon.

Another wierd lineup for a show.

Also, I remember Mastodon touring with Cursive, which is another wtf lineup.

I suppose a varied line-up would be more fun than one where all the bands were the same. Not quite sure what the problem is, tbh.

The latest Dream Theater progressive nation tour has like Bigelf and Unexpect playing together. I thought that was funny.

Anyways, yeah, that tour doesn't really make sense. Although I guess Priestess and Gwar are both pretty popular in Canada, and Cattle Decapitation is a little like Gwar, kinda sorta.

I've always thought it would be cool if it were normal for shows to be like a chill trip-hop band playing with an acoustic singer/songwriter as well as a thrash band.

It's all Dave Mustaine's fault. If he didn't get Rotting Christ booted, there'd be world peace, a cure for AIDS and cancer and shows with very different bands playing. Joni Mitchell and Mayhem! Rush and Napalm Death!

You know I would pay top dollar to see a Rush/Napalm Death concert tour or even a Pink Floyd/Bolt Thrower tour.

I would hardly call JFAC "hipster" in any concievable way. Then again, I wouldn't call Cattle Decapitation "hipster" either.

I'd love to see Priestess. They kick all kinds of ass. Don't care for the other two.

Humanure might be the funniest album cover I've ever seen, though.

It's true that. JFAC were one of the first deathcore bands that became big, but they aren't any more. You'll hardly ever see JFAC listed under any "hipster's" myspace favorite music section these days.

Nor would I ever. I always thought hipsters hated Metal.

I got a wtf out of Clutch touring with Coheed & Cambria. It sucks, because Clutch is a cool band, but the crowd was hardly into it.

I saw Killing Joke open for Motley Crue once, that was pretty weird.

I say hipster as in hipster Metal, not the usual sort. The type that likes JFAC, say, since they've lost public ground. Cattle Decap. are a Death/Grind band that the more populist parts of the underground dig.
