I didn't like episode III, because it suffered the same faults as all the prequels did. Terrible dialogue, questionable acting, and too much "LOOK AT OUR SPECIAL EFFECTS OH MY GOD LOOK LOOK LOOK THEY'RE SO GOOD, RIGHT?"

The only questionable actor was Christansen. Everyone else was spot on.

Eh, McGregor's usually a good actor, but he seemed bored most of the time, and what's-her-face was pretty wooden. And yeah, Christansen was pretty bad.

I will give you this, though, I did get a laugh out of seeing a dismembered Anikin catch on fire. That was funny.

I hated Christansen. Way to ruin Darth Vader, jackass. I thought both Portman and McGregor were good, even though I agree that McGregor has done better stuff.

Special effects and bullshit acting aside, the film is really good. It has almost everything I want in a sci-fi film. I love the space battles and the shots of planets and star cruisers. Every scene (except the ones about feelings and gay shit like that) was fun to watch. I never felt bored.

Oh, COME ON! McGregor was wooden as fuck. Doing an Alec Guiness impression most of the time = not great acting. Natalie Portman's been a horrible actor pretty much since Leon, and she was dreadful in this. As for Christianensensensen, he wasn't just bad, he was off the friggin' charts. Arnie's a bad actor, but he has charisma at least. They could have replaced Christianenensenesnsen with a CG dummy and it would have done a better job. People in the future are going to watch Episode III for how not to act - the US army used it for torture in Iraq. If alien life ever gets a hint that this abysmal film exists, they'll nuke planet earth to buggery and back to destroy all traces of the civilisation which could make such rubbish.

Legacy's right in that the only good bit is seeing Anakin maimed and burnt, but even then it's a slap in the face to the audience when we have to watch him wailing like a bitch as he becomes D.V. Even watching a CG Yoda fight Dee Emperar was ridiculous - they lost all trace of humanity from the little green freak when they turned him into a chubby green gollum. Fuck episode 3. It's shit. Too long, up its own arse, and SHIT.

I think Lucas's poor directing can turn a great actor into a crappy one. That new trilogy, though no too bad, was nothing but special effects and got asskicked by Jackson's terrific Lord of the Rings trilogy.

One of the most laughable things in episodes II & III is seeing Christopher Lee doing EXACTLY the same acting that he did in Lord of the rings. It seemed as he was at the same time doing the two roles, just changing white robe for black uniform, light saber for wooden staff, and taking off the wig, and doing exactly the same.

Ever notice that most of the names in Star wars can be found on the back of a Thai menu?

And wtf is that growing under Lucas' chin?!

I actually felt like crying when he wailed like that....when he is Darth Vader, all his feelings should be gone!

He should have been absolutely cold at the end, like "I don't care my kids are dead lol"

It would take a pretty awesome movie to top Star Wars IV or V, but all I can really tell you is that I'm looking forward to the new Star Trek and secretly don't think I'll be disappointed. Unlike Star Wars which I've completely given up on.

I too, am not happy with the Star Wars prequels.Over the years, I really enjoyed watching Star Trek TNG and Deep Space Nine. My wife and I will forever debate who's the better : Kirk or Picard.

I just saw the new Star Trek film this weekend and it is incredible. I thought it was a great way to explain how the characters came together. The actor who plays Dr. McCoy nailed that performance. I was impressed.
