Most boring effort from Isis.
People better listen to Panopticon again than lose their precious time with this one.
55/100

Yeah, I don't see this rating. I'd give this one a 65 or a 70 at best; it's just not really there in the way their previous three were.

I think this album is a bit more subtle in its usage of melodies in a way that you have to have be quite sophisticated in your listening habits to appreciate. Clearly, not everyone has the patience to 'unlock' albums like they did in Yee Goode Olde Days when the internet didn't exist and you could sit by the fire and listen to an album whilst slowly getting drunk and truly involving yourself in the music. These days it's all download-download-boring-delete. The yoof of today, I tell you.

I wasn't crazy about this album at first, but after repeated listens, I enjoy it more than Panopticon. As each album passes, Isis goes further away from the harder edge of their Oceanic era sound, but they are talented enough to make it work.

nice eyesore impression.

anyway, this album is boring and I don't like it, and if I have to listen to an album more than five times straight through to start liking it, then it's not a good album, period.

Yes, because there is such a HUGE difference between that and the self-righteous drivel you posted in the Legend thread.

 indeed.

Ah yes, because I was totally serious when I referred to one of the oldest posters here as 'yoof'. Try not to look like a whiny schoolboy complaining to a prefect, please, my dear Mr Son. It does not become you at all.

Like you would know anything about the days before the internet. Did you know we actually had to handwrite letters, and a strange man would carry them from place to place? Crazy times a I tell ya.

And this debate is older than you Zadsterboombox,

EDIT: And Isis is just Pelican without the balls. There, I'm on topic.

Isis are really really boring and so is this album. The drumming on the first song is kinda neat though. That's all I remember about the album actually, which is pretty weak since I listened to it at least 10 times.
