True guys, it's a sick album, if only play.com would actually fucking send it, I've been trying to get it for ages!

This album is incredibly epic, it wipes the floor with all those party/viking folk stuff which are saturating the genre. Not that I hate those bands, but there are definitely too many.

I've tried to get into this CD and similiar offerings in the genre. I just can't. What am I missing? I just find it to be so incredibly ridiculous. I mean no offense to anyone here who is a fan of this band or the music. I just don't get it

Well the melodies grabbed me at once with this one even though I didn't love it alot after one or two spins. Listen to Unbesiegt and Mana. Those songs are fucking great, and the ones that stood out for me in the beginning.

Yeah, the melodies are definitely the main reason... but... I'm a huuuuuge fan of folkish metal. Elvenking, Ensiferum, Trollfest, Finntroll, Windir, Wintersun, Falconer, Skyclad, Tuatha, Eluveitie, Korpiklaani, Tyr, Wuthering Heights... I could go on and on. I literally binged on this album. It has to be on of the best (minus everything Windir has ever done) Folk metal albums I've ever heard.

So I listened to this album once last year and saw that it was decent and didn't really go beyond that. Listening to it right now, it's like good god those melodies are catchy. They make you want to tap your feet.

I heard the Wintersun album yesterday, it's fuckin amazing. My only problem with that one is how short Beyond the Dark Sun is.

Yeah I totally fell in love with Eluveitie after I heard Inis Mona, that song ruled. Also I was surprised with how good Turisas' The Varangian Way was after just hearing the Rasputin cover.

Yep. Actually the cd finally arrived this week for me, the booklet is darker than the pics on the net and it has a funky smell to it, but still awesome. :dio:

This album is a real gem. Nice change to my disappointment on Eluveitie's new album.

Actually I heard Slania yesterday, and it's pretty good. If I remember isn't the last album acoustic? I heard a single from it and it didn't impress me tbh.

Yes, it's acoustic but not instrumental. Has a much more poppy feel, not really metal. I couldn't even get through half the album.
