I was surprised that this actually entertained me. They're not on the same level as Protest the Hero or Between the Buried and Me, but if they got just a bit better they might be.

The Cat's Pajamas is such a great song. :3

Also I think it's awesome that a normal/cute looking girl is all rawr growl.

this band has obviously survived the scenegrind epidemic.
The review was kind of short, and of course you have to have the obligatory take a shots at deathcore.
They really aren't that bad, Fuck the facts are just better.

Oh god Zad could you take your own dick out of your mouth for a second? This review could've used a little less elitism don't ya think? This album is pretty awesome but I'm a generic Psyopus and PtH fan so my opinion isn't as valid as others. If only I understood 'proper' metal.

You're right though that songwriting skills and some more progression would be a good thing but you could say that about Opeth's Orchid too. More jazz and some more refinement and this band will definitely transcend the deathcore fad. That breakdown-esque moment after the horn in Tastes Like gives me a boner.

Don't worry soon you will discover proper metal like Disturbed and Lacuna Coil!

Erm no you couldn't, iwabo are more technical here in some ways than Opeth were on Orchid. Hey, I gave them 58, which is a darn sight higher than anyone else in this thread would have. Sorry I didn't score your favourite band higher, what would you have scored it?

And Lugubrum, Cobalt and L'Acephale! Come on, give credit where it's due.

They're not my favorite band but they have been one that I'm enjoying the last week or so. I solidified my score at 68. Your score really doesn't match the fact that you said it has no quality tracks and you mostly just bashed it as a trendy band for deathcore fans to leech onto. Where you see Lacuna Coil as a fun antithesis to Cobalt or Leviathan I find iwabo to be my filler.

I pretty much hated this at first, mainly due to the random samples (horse sound and part just before it in 'You Ain't No Family', or the Dukes of Hazzard sound in 'Tastes Like Kevin Bacon') but I got over them and now I'm really enjoying this. The Cat's Pajamas and You Ain't No Family are great songs.

Ten higher?! Gimme a break, we're just disagreeing on a minor point. I said it has good moments, which is why I didn't give it lower.

You're pigeonholing it as the new trendy or novelty act when it's actually a respectable album and probably the best thing that has ever come out of the deathcore camp. You were rather dismissive to it despite a few "good moments".

"Novelty" seems to be the perfect way to describe this.

But that simply isn't true. Consider Ted Maul Deathcore? Even if not, the likes of Despised Icon or Trigger The Bloodshed are far better than this.

I was very convinced by their EP, but now the first impression is gone and it's not quite as enjoyable anymore. Still a good record.
