They certainly have improved from the EP, if anything. The only good thing about that was Tastes Like Kevin Bacon, which made it onto this album anyway.

probably the best thing that has ever come out of the deathcore camp.

But that simply isn't true. Consider Ted Maul Deathcore? Even if not, the likes of Despised Icon or Trigger The Bloodshed are far better than this.
Never listened to Ted Maul and I think that iwrestledabearonce is 20x better than the boring shit released by Despised Icon. It's only an opinion, though.

I haven't listened to the EP that much but it seemed to be even less

Don't worry soon you will discover proper metal like Disturbed and Lacuna Coil!

And Lugubrum, Cobalt and L'Acephale! Come on, give credit where it's due.

It's still funny that someone who likes numetal is criticizing a band for being trendy and talking down to its fans. ^_^

Disturbed aren't Nu Metal any more (don't like their old stuff) and Lacuna Coil were never Nu Metal. So, y'know, stfu?

I've spoken to plenty of Deathcore kids who weren't even aware of Suffocation, ffs. They accept the heavy stuff that's thrust onto them without doing the necessary digging, damn right someone needs to mention the 'proper metal'.

I've given this band and Deathcore in general quite a few chances, and I've reached the conclusion that both suck pretty hard.

You act as if "knowing" or being more "aware" of some metal bands is a sign of being higher on the human chain. Last time I checked there were many worse metal subgenres then deathcore

Scarred for life?! Chances are they'd enjoy the novelty of Turisas, and if they can listen to TAS they can appreciate a bit of Opeth. Bad choices.

But if someone who is interested in iwrestledabearonce and reads your review, they won't think "I should look into some of this proper metal he speaks of", they'll think something along the lines of "Oh god Zad could you take your own dick out of your mouth for a second?"

How can you draw the line between the two?, the redundant albeit invigorating breakdown overusage of The Acacia strain compared to some flowery and shitty Opeth song. Dude you have your work cut out in the Church of Goat.

Traptunderice is a unique case, I'll grant him that.

You lost me when you called Opeth shitty, in the same sentence as praising The Acacia Strain.

Hah its praise and a shot to the midsection I can understand when most guys I know especially where I live are sitting at their laptops listening to Angry Mob justice and then throw their headphones down in disgust haha. The whole "its nothing but breakdowns!!" but even still Opeth's musical formula is pretty much failing in creating atmosphere and maddeningly long songs.
