No, you can't post a valueless derogatory comment and then fail to either back it up or respond intelligently to a response.

I don't like them, never have and never will. They are not for me, and IMO they don't deserve this much discussion. But you have to bust out the insults, so good day to you.

You didn't come right out and say it, but you did imply that I lacked the intelligence to back up my disliking of said band. Why the hell do I have to come up a 1 to 2 paragraph response saying that I don't like Hatesphere? I don't get it. I don't like them, and you need to get over yourself.

I didn't mean you lacked the intelligence, I meant you didn't give an intelligent reason for gratuitously dismissing them.

No one's asking for an essay, but at least a goddamm reason. Otherwise just saying "They suck!" is completely unhelpful and unnecessary.

My reason is they are boring and I don't like them. But obviously that is not good enough for you. You like them, I don't. Lets move on.

Tbh, I'd say "boring" is a fair enough criticism of this album. I agree with the review, sadly. There's nothing on it to distinguish it from anyone else doing the same type of thing. Just a tired sound that has already been tried, mastered, and overdone.

Shadows Fall is modern Thrash. The War Whithin is the Quintessential Modern Thrash Album.

That's funny, because I'd say that Shadows Fall is metalcore. And Hatesphere are not.

But SF are still great.

Why, because of the vocals? That's not enough for a metalcore tag in my view. I hate the term 'modern thrash', but its a far more apt descriptor for Shadows Fall than metalcore.

I agree, I would call Shadows Fall metalcore or a mix of groove and melodic death metal if you will (and yes, they are great). And what is the deal with people thinking that melodic death metal is completely influenced by or seeking to sound like thrash? It sounds very different to me.

Hm, but for me, metalcore sounds like a mix of hardcore shouts and thrash metal riffs (with some melodic leads) while melodic death metal is more a mix of death metal with melodic parts.

E.g. At the Gates are known as melodic death, but they sound to me like thrash with death vocals, while on the other side In Flames are death with melodic parts and so melo death.

Hatesphere I would pack into the big nordic pack of Bands that combine classic thrash with melo death parts. Which could be called modern (or here in germany neo) thrash.
