Such a unique movie. It really struck me.

Is that the Terry Gilliam movie?

Anyway, saw Brüno last night. So fucking funny. I laughed much harder than I did at Borat.

I second Suspiria. Not straight horror, but I loves me some Dead Alive, if you haven't seen that. It has zombies! Drag Me To Hell was solid too, yeah.

I should really get Dead Alive (Braindead), thanks for reminding me.

Suspiria is the best horror film ever made.

(IMO, of course :P )

If you mean good recent releases, have you seen Martyrs, Eden Lake, or [REC]? The last one is a Zombie film.

These are the three recent films I've seen (last couple of years) that have stood out to me, along with an awful lot of crap.

The best Zombie films are the oldies, though :D Can't go wrong with some Fulci! (Actually, you really can. But get Gates of Hell/City of the Living Dead/Zombie Hing Am Glockenseil and you'll have a great time)

Martyrs and Eden Lake looks interesting. I have seen both [Rec] and the american version Quarantine and enjoy them both. Great atmosphere.
Some other horror movies I enjoy are Dawn of the Dead (new, have not seen the old version), 28 Days/Weeks Later, Some Masters of Horror episodes, Diary of the Dead, 30 Days of Night, Evil Dead, The Thing, Sunshine, The Hole, all the Saw films and the first Resident Evil. Those are the ones I can remember right now. Not too picky in this genre to be honest, I tend to enjoy most of it.

Will try to track down all the recommendations. Thanks!

Oh, man, I'd highly recommend tracking down the original Dawn... the new one was an abomination, IMO. (although, nobody seems to agree with me).

Intacto - Stylish yet intelligent Spanish thriller from a few years ago. Great idea, well-done, keeps you engrossed; highly recommended. I'm surprised there hasn't been a shitty remake already, the closest any American film has come to this is The Cooler, although they're very different.

Baise Moi

French hardcore film about two women living shitty lives in a poor part of France who end up going on a senseless, murderous rampage. Lots of real sex acting and explicit shots, yet it manages quite well not to degenerate into porn.

Totally dude. Saw it when a chick didn't want to see X-men and dragged me to a random movie. Turned out to be one of the most interesting movies I had seen. Highly recommended as no one really watched it unless by chance like I did.

I didn't think it was that bad. I don't know what its message was, but as a sex/violence experience it was fun.

Watchmen. Don't know how I feel about it all. Didn't read the comic and don't feel like I would now.

I think I'm gonna read the Watchmen book before seeing the movie.

Kissing Jessica Stein - Cute :3

Mysterious Skin - Was disturbing when molestation/rape came up, otherwise boring.

Watched The Baader-Meinhof Complex last night. Interesting, well-made film, keeps you watching despite the length and Bruno Ganz is in it! I'd always thought of them as a bunch of fuck-ups led by a nutter, and, well, I still do, but it's an interesting part of history that rarely gets mentioned (even in Germany, as an actor said in the special features). 4*

Anvil! The Story of Anvil. - This was really good. I had an array of different emotions watching this. Overall though, I felt compassion and really wanted them to have a comeback. Seriously, metal fans need to watch this. 9/10

Brüno - Yeah it was funny but not as funny as I expected. Tbh if he is to make a movie again I would rather not feel like he sat down and said "ok, so how can we offend people to the max?". I wasn't offended by any of it though.

I think he is actually just recreating his characters from Ali G. I don't think it has to do with offending people. He just likes to entertain.
