Just bought Animal House, so I'll be watching that either tonight tomorrow night.

The Dark Knight - 'Tis quite solid, indeed. I'd say it's ultimately better than the 1989 Batman film. Although I do prefer Nicholson's Joker over Ledger's.

Ledger's rendition of The Joker was far beyond Nicholson's, as cool as Nicholson's rendition was.
I liked the Vanishing Pencil trick.

Jack Nicholson is a fine actor and an even finer gentleman.

But his performance as the Joker was SHIT.

Anyone who has any respect for what the Joker represents in the graphic novels knows that Nicholson was a good villain, but was NOT the joker. It was like a half-assed caricature, phoned in from on top a pile of money.

Ledger was much closer, though still not spot on.

I agree that Nicholson's rendition was not an accurate portrayal, but I still think he pulled it off well.
As it is, the only reason it didn't suck, is because Nicholson was behind the makeup, anybody else would have made it a sad joke.
Caricature that it was, he still managed to infuse an air of obscenity into the performance.

But, while Nicholson infused an obscene streak into the role, Ledger oozed with malicious obscenity. I heard he went days on end without bathing, because he felt The Joker was supposed to be filthy.

Don't remember that one.

The one where he sells guns, fairly new, wasn't horrible.

Lord of War? It was okay, indeed.
Bringing Out the Dead is the Scorcese one where he drives an ambulance.

I like Matchstick Men and Adaptation a lot. Bringing out the Dead and Lord of War were cool too.

Matchstick Men, Adaptation, and Raising Arizona are so far the only movies I haven't hated Nicholas Cage in.

The Rock, Face/Off, Con Air and National Treasure are great action films.

(and, indeed, Face Off was good but no thank to Cage, Woo's style made it all)

Cage is kewl, mkay.

Saw Jurassic Park 2 and 3. Yeah not even close to the first film, but still nice and entertaining.
