I absolutely love this album. It's definately my favorite C&C album. I've listened to this so much I practically know it front to back.

21:13 is an incredible song. :dio:

For me, it's probably:

IKSOSE:3 > SSTB > GAIBSF,V1:FFTTEOM > NWFT

(Their album titles are stupidly long)

In Keeping Secrets for me has the best mix of progginess and poppiness, and it flows together as an album better than the others as well.

The only song I really like from these guys is whichever one is on Rockband. Given them a few listens at a friends, watched a live DVD, dug some things, but wasn't sold. For whatever reason I want to like them but I can't.

I've had this album for awhile now but I was never able to get into it as much as Good Apollo or No World For Tomorrow, something about it just doesn't work for me, maybe it's because Good Apollo was the first album I heard by these guys

oh FUCK OFF.

93?

I'm a prog freak and I got fooled into listening to this band by all the praise they received at prog archives and, well, pretty much every fucking music publication out there.

Do not be fooled, children. This is pop music, and unimaginative at that. Nothing original, nothing striking, nothing interesting WHATSOEVER.

EDIT: I'm not saying this music is worthless for everyone. I'm just saying that pop music should advertise itself as pop music, and not masquerade as progressive rock. I've rarely heard a band with fewer progressive tendencies than these guys. Just because you have multiple "sections" to your songs (which ultimately just amount to a bunch of different songs crammed together with ridiculous "section" titles) THAT DOES NOT MAKE YOUR MUSIC PROGRESSIVE. And just because you reference rush on your bonus track, that doesn't make your music progressive either.

Have I gone insane? Am I the only person actually listening to the music these guys make? It's POP ROCK.

A few facts :

1 - Prog Archives is a cool database but a lousy judge of progressive music. In fact, way too many bands that are only remotely linked to Progressive Music are mentioned there
2 - C & C are NOT progessive
3 - I'm betting you know next to nothing about Progressive Music.

Get GTFO! :D

1 - Prog archives is a database where people are free to post their opinions on music. When a large group of people all seem to agree, it stands to reason that one might believe their collective opinions.

2 - That's EXACTLY what I was saying you fucktard. Did you read my post, or just skim?

3 - I'm betting you know next to nothing about vagina.

1 - But you have to know your way around progressive music to sort it all out

2 - C&C is not pop music either, dimwit.

3 - Wanna bet?

And, by the way, I'm sure checking a band out for you is downloading their album (I know you're going to deny it) so, hold your horses, it ain't that bad.

When I get home tonight I'm going to take a photo of my cd shelf.

You will know it's mine because it will feature every single thrash album I have claimed to own in my thrash thread.

Then I will do a close up on this album.

Just because you're such a sanctimonious little fuck, I will do this to prove you wrong.

Fair enough, you actually bought it and was disappointed, shit happens.
Btw, that's what Myspace and the likes are for.

Still, a progfreak, really?

I have as many prog albums as thrash albums.

I have the entire YES discography.

I have genesis all the way until hackett leaves.

I have the entire pink floyd discography.

I have the entire king crimson discography.

I have ELP from the debut all the way up to Brain Salad Surgery.

I have albums by artists as varied as Gong and Camel and The Mars Volta and Rennaissance and Gentle Giant.

I could go on.

Yes, I'm a prog freak.

Then, if you want something progressive with jazz elements, I advise you to get miRthkon's latest, "Vehicle" and to LISTEN before you buy anything advised by the Prog Archives community.

Well, thanks for the recommendation. I will definitely check it out.

And as for your second comment....

I got this and "apollo" together for ridiculously cheap in a bargain bin so it wasn't actually that bad

This isn't that dreadful, certainly not worthy of a freakout like that. Oh, and "get GTFO" means "get get the fuck out".

Well, in fairness, it's my first freakout here.

And this is just one of those bands that really chews my nads.

I guess everyone has their pet peeves.
