Oh, man, you'll love it the best.

The movie glorifies the HELL outta him, unapologetically.

Just be prepared to be sad at the end, but I guess that goes without saying.

Miss March - Seeing this was a conflict between 4% on Rotten Tomatoes and having liked Whitest Guys You Know. I got 45 minutes in and it made me lol a few times but it was pretty bad. They should stick to sketches with nerdy grammar jokes, like this

The whole thing is, it was the banksters then, as now, that are the villians... nothing short of legalized robbery.
Godammit, I hate the whole banking / credit system with a passion.

I rarely have time these days to go to the theaters, but I may make an exception, if not, I can wait 'til it comes out on DVD.

Anyways went to the drive-in the other night and saw The Hangover and Public Enemies. The Hangover is amazing. It'd be the funniest movies this year if I didn't fall out of my chair in the dildo fight scene in Bruno. Ed Helms is amazing in it. I'm really glad the character that they lost stayed out of it most of the time. Jeffrey Tambor is hilarious in his five minutes on screen.

As for Public Enemies, it sucked. It was long and slow and just not good. The highly anticipated scene where Bale and Depp finally come face to face isn't gripping and was a giant letdown. The movie was never intriguing and it's only value was seeing Depp play Dillinger which was interesting but never amazing. I'm not a halfass movie watcher by any means so I think my judgment can be respected. If Mann didn't make Heat so many years ago this would've killed any future career he has. If Depp really is going to be the Riddler, he better step it up.

Oh and when it comes to Nick Cage no one mentioned The Weatherman as being the best movie he's ever done? For shame on all of you.

Although your take on Public Enemies fits in better with my expectations, saying The Weatherman was at all good is a bit eh, not bad, but hardly great.

When you're talking about a guy who basically rampaged across the country leaving a trail of bodies in his wake (sorry for the cliche) well, yeah, it kinda does require balls.

Most every day folks still frown on that kinda thing, "robin-hood" mystique or not.

Making the guy into an all-out hero, and making the police the clear antagonists is kind of a ballsy choice, if you ask me.

It's a true story after all. He could have easily made this a story from the other perspective, ala The Untouchables.

Frontière(s)

I was worried that the Nazi scum wouldn't get a satisfying comeuppance, but then the aggro guy got axed and pushed onto a table saw so I was placated.

How fucking sweet is that?

One of my favourite kills in any movie.

Especially when you combine it with the chick's manic axe swinging just beforehand. Fucking brutal!

It's hardly the first film to glamourise criminals though, is it? There are plenty of films where bad people are made to look good, and the police made to be the antagonists.

Trainspotting, second time.

Not quite as good as the book, but Ewan McGregor was great :dio:

I didn't mind that one....except for the fact Kate Winslet came off as totally insane.

No. I didn't enjoy the movie either, but the acting was top notch.

Bart Got a Room - Meh. William H. Macy was damn funny, otherwise it was below average.

Flash of Genius - Another Meh. Greg Kinnear was surprisingly average. Better than most of the newer movies out on DVD though.

The Weather Man sucks and Cage delivers one of his most sorry SOAB performances.

Are you kidding me? That is one of the only movies I can actually stand the guy.

Hardcore romcom...actually okay though. Lots of Zooey Deschanel, and if you like her you can probably get some enjoyment out of this.
