The Weather Man sucks and Cage delivers one of his most sorry SOAB performances.

Are you kidding me? That is one of the only movies I can actually stand the guy.

No I'm not. :D
I think the movie is bad. The less said about it the better... I even didn't care for Cage in that film also (even though I usually really like him).

John Hughes dies. He will definitely be missed. The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, and Ferris Beuller's Day Off are definite classics.

Funnily enough, I finally bought Fast Times At Ridgemont High on DVD a few days ago and will be watching it tonight. I'm sure that movie was an at-least partial influence on Hughes' teen comedies.

Die Welle - German film about how easy it is for fascism to take hold, even today. Excellent movie, I thought. Watch it if you get the chance, absolutely.

Michael Moore's "Slacker Uprising"

Not really a movie, and not advertised as such. It's available for free download on his website. Nothing really worth watching, unless you enjoy seeing Viggo Mortensen, Michael Stipe, Eddie Vedder and Tom Morello sing and talk about politics.

Think I'll pass...

celebrities, even semi - celebrities + politics = predictable failure.

Vedder does a pretty sweet version of Cat Steven's "Don't Be Shy" though, and they're a bit better spoken than most celebrities.

I'd just as rather listen to Pearl Jam or REM than the frontmen, tbh, although I haven't heard Vedder's solo album yet.

I've got Vedder's "Into The Wild" lying around somewhere, have yet to really listen to it. But yeah, the bands are better. :D

The Lives of Others - So amazing. The eavesdropping guy is such a heartbreaking character. I like how the guy who was making the joke about East Germany's leader is working the letter openers at the end

I just hate how people put more stock in celebrities opinions than the average jackoff on the street.
And they practically all have the same political POV, anyway.

District 9 looks to be a cool movie. I'm in such a sci-fi mood. Can't wait to see it this month.

+1. I like his music with Pearl Jam, but I'm not particularly interested in his political views. And, as for Tom Morello, haven't we already been pretty well exposed to his political views through his music with Rage Against The Machine?

More than hearing their views it's cool to see them campaigning for higher voting turnout. It's not really much of a movie, just light entertainment with cute music.

Sorry but that movie was a pretty bad remake. Read a book a few years back about that antropological experiment and it creeped my out more than the two movies.

I have neither read the book or seen the older movie, so chances are I'd agree with you if I did.

Punisher: War Zone

Wow! Titus 'Suck My Cock' Pullo vs Jimmy McNulty in a story ripped off from Batman and full of ridiculously awesome killings. Perfect entertainment.

Nobody really uses the term here. I've only heard it in that movie and on the internet.
