Haven't given this one a spin in a long, long time... if I remember correctly, the standout tracks are Serpents Harvest and Black Victory of Death, the rest are forgettable.

Fair score.

This was almost the first Darkthrone album I ever listened to, until I was told it sucks and I should listen to Transilvanian Hunger first instead. So I did. I never did listen to Total Death, but maybe I should give it a try. I heard Blasphemer and liked it, so...

It's decent. I have no issues with it, but it's not their best work. It's very much Darkthrone though, so you know, that's always a good thing. Some of the riffs are really good.

First Darkthrone album I bought and also my first black metal album ever. And I didn't really know what to expect in that time. I bought it without knowing what it was at all. I remember I was like...Huh? But the rest is history.

But today, I still think it's a good album.

Not essential but I had to re-evaluate my opinion of well (everything after Panzerfaust being shit HURRRRR). Its actually a good album which has many similarities with Panzerfaust, there CF influence is still palpable that intro riff of "Earth's Last picture". Good album overall with a mixture of their more tremolo picked parts and some Panzerfaust groove. Goatlord (the re-recording of death metal demo shit with Fenriz's bizarre clean vocals) is good as well if you want some more of their material.
