:dio: Wouldn't score it quite that high, however.

98 is way too high.

I never understood any of the albums from this band at all, nor the praise they've received, and I've listened to Gallows Gallery and Hangman's Hymn.

I personally thought the music was pretty awful, I mean it's been a few years, but I don't really have to urge to dive back in and check them out.

Start here and work forward. Things get gradually less sinister and more endearingly loony, but they're still very much a worthwhile band.

I enjoyed Gallows Gallery a ton. I remember the power metal debate as well, which I still disagree with 100%.

Listened to it today for the first time in a long time. Didn't enjoy this as much as I used to. I think you have to be in a certain mood and even then it's only a high 70s album.

I was so happy when I got this CD a few years ago..... I bought it solely for the high score it receives on this site... I had never listened to the band before so I was going into it blind... I didn't really know what to expect but from the review I was hoping for some weird ass creepy music... It basically is.... It gets really sloppy at times but It doesn't detract from the cd for some reason to me... I love almost everything about this cd except for maybe the 2-3 minute piano deal at the end of track four if I remember correctly....I have never bought any of their other cds so I have no idea what their future cds sounded like, but this is a perfect disc to listen to if you are looking for something weird/creepy/ and raw as fuck in my opinion....
