I am not much of a drinker although beer is one of my fav drinks. I drink every alternate weekends. I enjoy it a lot more when I wait for the weekends to have it. Lot of names here that I haven't heard about mainly cos I didn't look around enough. I have Haywards 5000 or Knock Out when I need to have strong beer. For Lager, I have Kingfisher Blue, KingFisher Premium and Royal Challenge. Don't like Foster's much. I did have Hayward's Black and it looked like coke. Loved it. Is there a special name for those dark coloured beers?

Not really, no.

There are many different types of dark brews.

My first taste of beer was Lowenbrau.
They still make that stuff?

Got no time for beer, though I do enjoy the taste... scotch and vodka for me, as stated earlier..

If you're ever in London, go to the Maple Leaf pub near Strand street (around Trafalgar's Square)- you can try some Canadian beers there, though the prices there are admittedly a bit high. Still, you can get Mooseheads, Keiths and Sleemans there... and watch hockey! Pretty necessary for any bar.

It would be like never leaving Canada!

Haha, we used to have a saying in college, "There's only one thing worse than Hamm's...warm Hamm's".
I don't usually drink beer to get drunk since I can't burp, but when I'm just relaxing and kicking back I few its usually one of the following:

Bass
Coors Original
Sam Adams (generally the seasonal stuff, especially Octoberfest)
Michelob
Killian's
Becks

We had a saying college to: It's all pink on the inside.

Hell yes, they still make Löwenbräu! One of my favourite beers, though not really the Original (you know, light blue can). Löwenbräu dunkles and Triumphator are the best they have to offer, imo.

Really never been a fan of Belgian beers as whole, actually.

Are you serious? Have you ever tried the decent beers and not the so-called 'Belgian' exports? The fantastic variety of abbey breweries we have, that's the real deal.

Since I've never been to Belgium I probably can't say I've had a fair sampling of the beer, but what I've tried I didn't like. From memory I've tried Stella (though I guess we can ignore that), Leffe, Chimay, Duvel, a really shitty cherry-flavoured beer that was horribly disgusting and a few more that I can't recall the names of at the moment. Perhaps part of the problem was that I don't like very many light beers, and nearly every Belgian beer I've tried was a blond beer.

It pretty much is. Hey, I was in London during the Stanley Cup playoffs, and you're crazy if you think I'm going to miss the best hockey of the year just because every other bar in the UK plays rugby (which is awesome, true) and football (not so much).

I'd go nuts if I was away during the playoffs and I missed a lot of hockey. Good thing to know that there are some Candian bars in other places than Canada.

Oh my god.

That packaging is worth the price alone. And the beer itself looks rich and tasty. I want me some!

Indeed it is. Dark, thick, but not overwhelming. Great!

Actually, that's just a sucky glass for that beer.

And great pick Nessie, Gulden Draak is a fine brown beer! Now try to find St. Bernardus 12:

Now this is a great and rich beer

Fucking great beer. I got the Christmas package for it last Christmas that included a beer and a glass in a nifty little container. Hobgoblin ftw.

I've drank beer like twice and only ever had Coors Light, so I'm kinda of the opinion that beer sucks, but this thread makes me want to sip a Guiness.
