I don't even know why you're posting in a thread that's dedicated to pop music. Go start a "I like bad thrash" thread and leave the other discuss the merits of pop music, bitch.

devoted has been getting his ass kicked lately, i know how you feel devoted

Stefan is really the only one "kicking my ass" and I usually don't care what he has to say, as he doesn't care what I have to say.

it's a love hate thing, I love to hate him and hate to love him.

thats not what pink Hitler has to say
and I still love you.

pink emo hitler is french, so yeah...

and as long as you love me then I can remain happy

Epic gay fail.

Pretty much. Like indie, it's an umbrella term that shifts over time.

Basically what he said. Although, definitively, pop hasn't really changed much in the last 30 years. In fact, pop music today is about the same as it was a decade ago (hence what I was saying about how the 2000's don't really seem to have a defining sound the way the 90's, 80's, etc. did). Catchy danceable beats, a fair amount of electronic effects with an occasional funk-like riff, sensual lyrics, etc.

Hah! And this is coming from someone who was bitching in a Dream Theater thread, saying how bad they were. When Nessie told you to fuck off you continued mumbling about how you could say what you want...

So like Devoted said, epic fail.

BTW, I don't really like Pop that much. :D

The Beatles are great... but I don't consider them Pop, they are really Pop-Rock, there's a lot of rock in them.

Pop without Rock is bland and forgetteable.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, the Beatles were highly influential and revolutionary and blah, blah, blah. I've heard it all and I still don't like them. Especially not that horrible, manufactured, bubble gum Pop music they played before they discovered hallucinogens.

I don't think any of them would have been caught dead writing the sugar coated crap that appeared on Please Please Me. That album sounds very much like the rest of the stuff labels were pushing at the time. I think Help! is when they first started to not listen to label executives, and around Rubber Soul they had enough clout tell the execs to stuff it and did what they wanted.
