Ivory Plains - 88/100
Holy War - 92/100

*Starfall - 79/100*

This IS Dragonland's best album to date. Not only by a little bit, either. Regardless of your incredibly accurate 'personal opinion' scoring system, this doesn't give the album nearly as much credit as is due.

To me... this album really stands out above the crowd. Just like Pyramaze, Dragonland has crafted their own true sound, despite the fact that they still hail from the Melodic Power Metal scene. I feel safe giving this a 95/100. A MUST-OWN for ANY Power Metal fan![/i]

Chris was a bit of a fan boy with this band and with good reason; they were quite good on their first two releases, in fact, very good at places. So not that I don't trust Marty, hehe, but I'd be interested to know what Chris would score this.

Well , i am glad that you gave it a 79 Marty because this album definitively does not deserve more (and i actually think that you are generous)

It's probably the most overhyped power metal album of 2004 and as far as i'm concerned , it failed to meet my expectations (especially after having read a review on another site)

I personally would give this something between 70 -75 and nothing more.

What a joke, and the new Sacred Steel 40/100? I'd laugh if you weren't so pathetic.

Metal Rules gave Starfall 3 out of 5 and they have major credibility on the metal scene. Tombstone gave it 7 (which is high for them). Most people seem to forget that we have a 100 scale here at Metal Reviews not a 1-10 scale. A score of 79 merely reflects my opinion that this is a very good album (70-79 range) but not quite in the outstanding category. I love great melodic power metal (always have) and many may agree with you that this deserves higher score but what's wrong with a 79/100 which is in the "very good" range? All it really means is that it is a very good album and others who gobble up everything that's power metal out there might like it a lot more than I do....If I gave it a high 80's or 90's score just because others are being somewhat orgasmic about this album, it wouldn't be fair to the readers.........I gave my opinion of the album and explained in great detail why........

As usual, the only thing you bring to the table is "What? You don't agree with me, the self appointed authority of heavy metal? You are wrong, and you suck. Wahhhh, you're also a dork and a booger-face." Get over yourself, already. If you don't agree with someone's opinion here, why not present a well thought argument to support your statement? Instead, you've become just another troll. If you can't bear to read anyone else's opinion, let alone one that differs from your own, then why ever come to this site? Trust me, if you leave, no one will miss you and your childish, pompous posts. Just go back to your site, re-read your reviews over and over again, and pat yourself on the back for a job well done.

You know, I've seen several reviews on your site (including your own) that I disagree with. I've never felt inclined to track down the reviewer and tell them how wrong they obviously are, or how much they suck. Jesus, everyone has opinions and tastes.... Maybe you should start up a message board over there so we can come and troll it just like you are doing here.

Next week, we'll send our reviews to you for proofreading and expert analysis. We'll also ask for your infallable guidance for a numerical quote.

In Metal We Tr, errrrrrrr... In Anthony Brock We Trust!

Metal-rules, major credibility? Haha, depends on who is doing the review. The guy who did it is very tough on power metal usually so that's actually kind of a high score from him (though he did give Reckoning Night 4.75, which is not nearly as good as this in my opinion). If Los Meurtos did that review it would probably be higher. You're right about tombstone though. Anything over 4 that has a slight hint of melodic power or prog metal in it is super high for them.

I liked this CD a lot more than you I think. I actually like it better than the new Angra, which was also very good, but it's more due to what I look for in power metal. This has very melodic, almost progish styled choruses and I love stuff like that. I also really like the singers voice and the keyboards are very cool. They're quite varied and thankfully just don't copy the neo-classical stylings of Finnish power bands. The production is practically flawless in a Pagan's Mind Celestial Entrance type of way. Great stuff.

I really like this dragonland, the production is great and the song writing innovative. Definatly much better then a lot of other power metal albums this year, especaily the new rhapsody.

As long as reviews are based on personal view and feelings, then there will never be too many to agree. Just take the well known riff of Holy Diver.... Some people think it's fuckin' awesome the simple way it changes between the 3-4 power grips, while others find it pure boring... Shoot them! ARGH!
