Agreed on the lyrical front. I've read that its supposed to deal with Cantrell's move to Los Angeles. Not one of his better efforts.

Arrived home to find some promos for upcoming albums alongside my grotesquely inflated gas bills. Some made me gag slightly (Leaves Eyes? Egads) but also this, which some here might be interested in:

Saw the new videos from both Hatebreed and Kittie. The Hatebreed sucked. Jasta should not try to harmonize his hardcore vocals. The riffs were more modern metal weaksauce as they've pretty much etched away every element from that other band that recorded the excellent "Satisfaction is the Death of Desire."

The Kittie wasn't terrible, but I admire them for trying hard. It's almost cute.

The new Teitanblood album is pretty damn badass. I'm a bit worried about its staying power as it pretty much grabbed me on the first listen. But so far ist pretty high on my Best of 2009 list.
