Never smoked or did any drugs before. I am, however, a social drinker.

I'm sorry, but peer pressure is more difficult to overcome than addiction.

Blimey, you must have some insistent friends.

Yeah, I guess it was just my friends in high school but peer pressure never went beyond like offering someone alcohol or weed.

I have respect for people who don't do drugs or alcohol and are still a lot of fun and go out (i.e. they don't 'need' it) .. but those are pretty rare.

They're people, just like you and me. Why does that deserve more respect? Do you respect people who don't drink coffee more than those who don't? Or people who don't eat cheeseburgers?

lol wat. Go load up on some oxycontin for a few months daily and try to quit that, let me know how it goes for you. It'd have been far easier to say no in the first place.

I've lost a couple friends to addictions, one to Oxycontin and then one to coke/crack... But I myself know my limits, and never let myself get too deep or involved with my recreational drug use.

Can't say I've lost any friends because they said no.

I always offer, and always will, because I like to share, but if someone wants to say no I'm not going to bust their balls about it. To each their own.

We did mix the sheesha with weed and hash.

And my first time smoking weed, I was thinking to myself, is this it? Is this what all the hooplah is about? I didn't get it. But, I tried it again later that night and into that weekend and then I realised why some of my friends always had weed on them.

The same friend who got my high the first time was also the first person to get me to smoke weed in a different way. No pipes, bongs, or joints. We did waterfalls one afternoon at his place. And jesus christ was I fucked up. After my first hit I almost fell over. Then he made me do another one. After we were done smoking we went and played PS2 where I passed out on his couch. So he drove me home. When I got home I made myself some toast and went into my basement where I layed on my couch for a good 2 hours and it felt like I was laying on a raft in the water. The couch was rocking back and forth and it felt like people were touching me all over my body. I was really messed up.

We took a waterbottle and poked a little hole in the bottom of it. Made the top of the bottle, where you drink from, a makeshift weed holder with a filter and all. Fill the bottle up with water and keep the hole covered, then start burning/lighting/whatever the weed while letting go of the hole. As the water poors out slowly, the bottle fills up with smoke. Once all the water is gone, take off the filter from the top and inhale all the smoke.

rinse and repeat

Cool, like a bucket bong without the bucket.

Must try!

on paper it doesn't seem worse than a bong, what makes it so intense? is it because it's a single guy taking all the smoke?

and what do you use for a filter?

I don't really do anything. I haven't even drank in a long time I don't even remember honestly.

Have drank a little, especially since I've been in college, and have smoked some hookah but that doesn't really count. Never done weed but I'd try it, I think.

I'm referring to teenage years. The amount of pressure you get from people at school. For me it started in junior high (middle school). I remember feeling obligated to do drugs. I started smoking pot in eighth grade. Then as my high school years developed that led to a new group of friends which caused me to feel obligated to try new drugs and alcohol. Try going to a party and staying "clean" at that age... its impossible, unless you wanted to be "unpopular." And believe me, at that time being popular is the only way to be. So yes, a young teenage mind can be persuaded to do drugs and it is harder to say no than to kick a pot addiction. I probably exaggerated with my broad statement, but I was referring to those douche bags who still smoke pot in their mom's basement that just realized that they have been a waste of space, so now getting off the chronic is a good idea. Obviously there are more addicting drugs that you need more than willpower to get off of.

Also, I blame my drug and alcohol usage in high school for many of my shortcomings today. I scraped by with C's and D's, but I was not considered a "nerd." I didn't appreciate my nerdNESS until a few years after high school. Took a few hiccups with the po po, but I really appreciate the fact that I'm not like how my "friends" from high school still are. They still make excuses why they smoke pot and try to justify their laziness and lack of ambition. This is NOT me looking down on them, because I know what they are capable of. I've seen first hand the effects pot had on their lives. Although I love pot and alcohol, I wish I did not crave them. The only reason I don't smoke is because I would have a very upset Mrs. If I didn't have somebody to hold me accountable, I would not be any better than I was 7 years ago.

Ah. Thought it would be something along those lines, because a pot "addiction" is indeed probably less serious than who you go to school with. That's more in line with, say, a chocolate addiction in terms of alcohol/hard drugs addiction, which is what I thought you meant at first. Hence my WTF-ery.

Wow, I'm glad I never had that kind of pressure. Most of the kids I hung out with didn't smoke, drink, or anything, and they were very reasonably popular. I remember being asked if I wanted a drink at some point and I just said "Nah, I'm good," and that was the end of it, no harm done or anything.

Maybe it affected me different, but I can't stand a bong. My lungs just can't handle it. But doing that waterfall was crazy. Quite possibly the highest weed has ever made me.

As for a filter, it has just two pipe filters that my buddy jerry-rigged into one big one. Don't ask how he did it, cause I don't know.

I've also smoked weed out of an apple, but it is not worth the work involved.

I think that waterfall one is harder than a bong because as the water drains out it creates pressure, then when you take it down it smashes into your lungs hell fast.... I think that kind of thing is also known as a 'rocket' though I could be wrong.
