I love this album. RATM is probably the only band I can think of who truly succeeded at making rap metal a full-time musical career.

this is a classic album, must be bought by any kid into rock or metal at the age of 14-15.

To quote Karl Logan, "Adding Rap to Rock is like taking the most beautiful girl you've ever seen to a plastic surgeon, and asking him to put a penis on her."

and that is exactly why I don't agree.

Karl Logan - Manowar

It think Rad still has that as his signature. I modified my post a little. I keep tinkering with it all the time which is why I edit it n number of times.

I didn't like this band back then and I still don't like this band.

Mixing metal with rap is like adding dog shit to a hot fudge sundae.

Great album, but they ripped off Downset. Hard.

Awesome album, used to be one of my favorites. Too bad they never put out anything of this quality again. Evil Empire and The Battle of Los Angeles both have some good tracks, but neither really come close to this one.

FREEDOM! :dio:

Umm correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Downset's first album come out in 1994? If you want to talk about Social Justice, then maybe we can have this discussion.

to the people that said this album is adding rap to metal, you're horrible, this album isn't metal at all. tom morellos riffs aren't metal, i understand why we're categorizing this as rap metal for the reviews sake but this album is a rock and roll classic.

IMO The Battle for Los Angeles is better than this one, placing me in a minority of (perhaps) one.

This album blows. Fuck Morello and his pedal wankery.

I always thought that too, although I listened to Battle of Los Angeles and Evil Empire for a really long time before hearing the debut so that might be why I was never disappointed with them.

Still, awesome band that I thought were the best for a while in high school and still really enjoy from time to time.

It did, but that changes nothing. No time to get into it now (going to work), but Downset was ripped off by RATM. Plain and simple.
