Let's face it; every Death album is a masterpiece in it's own right.

+1

I'm more into later albums though.

Yeah, I can see why a lot of people would prefer the later material.
I just always liked the more primitive sound of his early works.

ITP is brilliant. In Human Form, Trapped in A Corner, Nothing Is Everything...these are amongst my favorites tracks, not only out of Death's discography, but generally speaking.
I doubt that anybody that knows anything about Metal would say that Chuck ever put out a mediocre album. Let's face it; every Death album is a masterpiece in it's own right.
That being said, something about the first three, and SBG in particular, just stands out to me. Evil Dead alone is enough to make SBG my fav Death album.

could not of said it better meself.

What's your top ten favorite tracks from the first three albums, DW?

Mine:

Evil Dead
Open Casket
Mutilation
Zombie Ritual
Primitive Ways
Leprosy
Denial Of Life
Regurgitated Guts
Altering The Future
and
Choke On It

But, fuck they're all good.

Control Denied was nearly medioce.

It's definitely different, but not mediocre. It took a few listens to sink in, but I love it.

Insanely hard question to answer. But one of my all time favourite Death songs, and one that nobody ever seems to mention is Beyond the Unholy Grave. I love that damn song.

others, in no particular order:
Primitive Ways
Choke On It
Leprosy
Scream Bloody Gore
Sacrificial
Evil Dead
Spiritual Healing
Genetic Reconstruction
Mutilation

but there are so many more. But those, I guess, are my top 10.

Beyond the Unholy Grave was not originally on SBG, until later as a bonus track, but, yeah it kicks ass.

This I am aware, still awesome though and one of my favourites.

Drudkh have awesome covers. I also like many of the drawings by Chris Moyen that are used for covers in the more 'raw' part of the BM scene.

I realize this speaks to my childish sense of humor, but the album title and the lyrics to the corresponding title track of your "nsfw" link are making me snicker uncontrollably, causing those walking by my office to give me strange looks.

how can anybody be a respectable music fan and not heard Motorhead in 25 years? I find that hard to believe. Have you been living under a rock? And if so, what is it like?
