Crank 2 just seemed to take the exact storyline of the first one and turn it up one notch. I honestly didn't finish it but I don't think I missed much. Every scene seemed to be set in a whore house or strip club. For serious? The first one had cool scenes like the mall chase and him fighting his way out of the black biker bar. The first could be over the top without having to be silly and basically just stupid.

Haha, calling Crank 2 TOO over the top is probably the best praise you could ever give them. It's glorious for what it is, and it's pushing the limits. Pure metal. :dio:

Exactly. Speaking about Punisher Warzone, if the thought of Jimmy McNulty doing a crazy accent with horrible facial scars as the baddie vs Titus "Suck My Cock" Pullo as the goodie, both killing people in wonderful OTT ways, doesn't pull at your entertainment bone there's something wrong. It's an action film, they're at their best when silly.

Even Mcnutty couldn't save the shit that was Punisher.

also, Shoot Em Up was pretty damn bad as well.

Never seen Taken, but I want to.

I'd say Taken is pretty different from Crank etc because it actually made the attempt to establish characters and emotion and stuff like that. I still haven't seen Crank 2 but I'm pretty sure I'll like it.

I'll agree with this, but it's more because I hate Clive Owen. Taken is meh compared to proper action films, as good at it as Neeson is.

The first was up its own arse to a ridiculous degree, this looks a bit more fun though.

Smokin Aces is an over-the-top movie I can watch. Not that much, but I still enjoyed it. Kinda sad that the new one is straight to DVD though.

What's that english guys name? It has completely left me, I like him.

Oh I miss Vinny on the pitch!

Anyway

Drag me to hell - WHAT THE HELL is all the buzz about? Retarded.
Road Trip Beerpong 2009 - Retarded and braindead
Never Back Down - I have to admit I got a little pumped when I watched it, not particularly good or anything but definitely entertaining.

Halloween Bad Film Club:

* Zombie Strippers - actually sort of funny on purpose, Robert Englund is a total legend. Mostly crap though.
* One-Eyed Monster - people are menaced when an alien life form possesses Ron Jeremy's old chap.
* Night of the Living Dead 3D - a complete headache, and not just because of the 3D glasses. how do you make such a mess of House - People - Zombies? IN SHOCKING 3D!!!
* "Manos" The Hands of Fate - now we're talking. Top 5 bad films ever. Amazing.
* The Gingerdead Man - aaaaaargh
* Simon Says - I honestly think they just put a camera in front of Crispin Glover and said "just go nuts, buddy."

Taxi Driver - Real good psychology and stuff going on in this movie.

Duplicity - Liked this more than I expected. It had a unique sense of humour, a pretty good story and a great soundtrack.

My second favorite movie ever. It's definitely a movie you have to be in the mood to watch and really get into it.

It's a heavy flick. One of the best, definitely. Seen it numerous times, and never found it boring. Cinematic art for the sake of art.
The scene where Scorcese has a cameo (back seat of the taxi, talking about killing his cheating wife)... the back and forth shots of Scorcese and DeNiro in the rear-view mirror... is intense.
Weird seeing a young Harvey Keitel playing a pimp, and the ending is strangely macabre.

I liked how the violence at the end was more trippy and messed up rather than omg evil or yay pwnage. Hopefully I'll get around to watching it again someday.

Yeah, it definitely had a surreal quality to it.

The hotel manager that got blasted on the stairway got pwned, though.

The Story of Anvil - Good movie. The pace of it was a little weird in places (like from the introduction to the band members to suddenly being "oh hay tour") but it seemed very honest and real.
