Paranormal Activity

Despite the cornball ending, it was an awesome awesome movie. Any movie that makes kids run out of the theater screaming has to be worth something.

If you like The Blair Witch Project, you'll probably like PA. Some people don't like it, but I did.

I didn't mind the Blair Witch at first, but it is not a movie you can watch more than once.

what is so scary about this movie that makes kids run out of the theatres? I don't care if you spoil it.

Yeah, PA is kinda like that. The movie pretty much exists only to make you jump.

What made it so effective was just the way the spooky parts were presented. Spoilers (for people who do care): there's a low tone that plays every time bad things are about to happen. That definately makes it effective because there's that "oh shit" factor, and it definately adds a lot of suspense. Also the way things just get worse and worse every night is pretty effective. Like I said before, the ending is just really bad. The "BOO SCARY FACE" and "Katie has not been found" was just a really bad way to end it. Beside that, it was a good movie with an awesome atmosphere.

I didn't. You won't. It was funny listening to and watching people freak out in the theater, though.

I agree. I really enjoyed it. It was "scary" while also being fun to watch. I thought with all the hype it might be a bit of a let down, but I was pleasantly surprised. Listening to the other people in the theater is pretty LOL worthy. It's not quite that scary. Definitely has a great atmosphere and some really creepy moments though.

Just saw PA a few minutes ago. Spoilers possibly: I found the guy to be just so absolutely annoying that the film wasn't tolerable. The scary parts were just spooky and the ending was in the commercial. Not worth seeing in my opinion.

Surrogates - 6.5/10

Mildly entertaining. Bruce Willis does not bring anything new to his acting and sometimes it feels like a ripoff of I Robot.

What the fuck. I saw it a few days ago and there wasn't any "scary face" or anything like that. I heard they edited that shit in for the theatrical release. You guys should get the original one.
