hmm not great, decent for late night social occasions however.

Watched this last night. Very meh, took too long for the zombies to appear and the sex scene was horrific. Was she licking his fingers or was that just me?

I was more perturbed by the fact that she was apparently shagging him mid-shit.

Well, I thought he'd started to wipe, which makes the finger-licking all the more  . Norwegians, eh?

Just watched The Blair Witch Project for the first time, since everyone's been comparing it to Paranormal Activity. It's not as great as I heard, but it gets pretty damn spooky near the end. Might buy it on DVD this weekend and watch it with the little bro.

I watched it one night at like 1 am in detroit in a transport truck. Now that was spooky. It was mainly being out that late in Detroit that made it spooky, but spooky nonetheless.

I've heard worse stories of Detroit than of The Blair Witch... but are the stories true? Is it really as frightening as they say? Or will I just be let down like I was with Blair Witch if I ever visit it?

American Yojimbo. It's basically driven by how much of a badass Clint Eastwood is.

Depends where you go, how long you stay, etc.

I saw these 2 black guys (OMG racism!) "fighting" in the street and when a car came down that street it would have to stop because the two guys were fighting. As soon as the car stopped, they robbed the driver. This was just spitting distance down the road from the hotel we stayed at.

Where they actually, genuinely fighting? Or was it just a setup to rob the car?

No idea. From where we were, it looked pretty real. But they seemed to be good friends when the car stopped.

EDIT: Woops, I thought you were posting in the "now listening" thread, referring to the band Say Anything. Massive fail.

As much as I'm not opposed in principal to this motion capture stuff, why does Bob Zemekis keep insisting on making his films needlessly stupid when he utlises it?

Yes, I appreciate that you can do certain things that you could not do with ordinary film, but that doesn't mean you have to. Looking at some of the footage for A Christmas Carol, you've got stuff like 60+ Bob 'Oskins doing a forward flip off a 10-foot balcony, landing on his hands on a table then doing another forward flip to land on his feet.

Why the need for this? The worst stuff about Beowulf was all the Final Fantasy-style jumping about. If you want to make a cartoon, just make a cartoon, Bob!

In my insomniatic state last night I watched an odd little vampire film: 'Bitten'. Jason Mewes played the lead along with Erica Cox as the vampire. Mewes wasn't bad as he's no thespian by any stretch of the imagination but injected his sarcasm as only he can. Cox pulled off the tortured vampire very well and looked incredibly hot while doing so. I love independent horror films.

Obviously Detroit has high poverty and crime problems, but shit like this happens everywhere. I went to Detroit and I didn't love it or anything, but it's not the scariest place ever if you don't make it so.
