Noenum two new songs were really not worth 5 years wait.

Now hold on, Dago; there was really nothing wrong with 1349's new one. After all, the band had finally added dimension to their music, rather than blasting the shit out of everything in every song. I think it's criminally underrated and wrongfully lambasted.

But I think we can both agree on Augury's... err... stumble. Fuck, this year's been so excellent in terms of metal, that I keep forgetting all them disappointments.

What the hell is wrong with you people nothing is wrong with the new Augury unless you expect them to be some bullshit gimmick death metal with opera vocals. How about listening to the music which is btw fucking awesome and just as good if not better than their debut goddamnit christ

Do they not use opera vocals in the new one? I heard some song from the debut, and all I heard was some merely okay Tech Death Metal all up until some Ms. Piggy-type lady comes warbling in, and I'm just like "wat, how do you think that's a good idea?"

Yeah new one doesn't have opera singing. I liked it on the debut but I think they're better without it.

All I know is that I thought it was one of the silliest things I've ever heard, and it totally put me off of that band.

Well, IMO some bands should just keep on blast-beating if they have no idea of how to experiment. Throwing in a couple of good ideas with not much of a connection is not what i call positive experimentation.

I'm not saying this is the best they've ever done. Nor am I saying it compares with the best they've ever done. But you people are being too harsh on it. The title track, Snuff, Unit 731, Psycopathy Red are all pretty good songs. Good for 45+ year old men who have been doing this for over 25 years. IF you put it into perspective, it's a decent album. I like it better then the last 3 or 4 Slayer albums, that's me though. It may not make an end of year list for me, but I personally rate it higher than you guys.

I think it's their best album since Vitalogy.
The new Muse is much stronger than their previous too.

I was disappointed with the new U.D.O., more of the same and not the best there is. Also, the new Megadeth left a bitter taste in my mouth... as did all their albums since (and including) Cryptic Wings.

its shit and best since vitalogy isnt much of an accomplishment for them becuase they've been releasing a lot of filler with a few good songs on most of those albums. Pearl Jam is one of my favourite bands but they've sold out. the only good song on that album is the end.
Then i see what AiC comes out with that blows them out of the water missing a band member (RIP Layne) Black gives way to blue Suprise of the year positive and Back spacer supriseof the year negitive

Pearl Jam clearly isn't one of your favorite bands or you don't like music much. I think they released a sting of average albums from Binaural to Avocado but the rest is pretty great.
