Polish Witchmaster releases may only be about half an hour long and they come out only once every five years. Yet, the self-anointed title of the Kings of Satanic Metal Slaughter may actually fit this crew just right, so those charred chunks of aggrothrash are worth the wait. Clear out the lungs and get ready to inhale some serious soot …

Lineup shuffles behind them, Kali (guitars) and Bastis (vocals) have managed to add another pair of players to the squad to unleash Trucizna upon the unsuspecting populace. The album is a short, to the point, smashingly likable blackened thrash’n’roll brimming with primal energy and devil-may-care attitude. The songs on Trucizna are so catchy, their short fly-by time can’t possibly wear on you, but it will sure wear you out with the massive amount of headbang required to enjoy this properly.

Witchmaster has an uncanny ability to effortlessly shift between the maddening chaotic pace, while blasting along, to tight orderly Accept-like riffs (Self-Inflicted Divinity, Two-Point Suicide). One minute you are bobbing along within the confines of good ol’ German thrash, just before ratcheting up the craziness. The fact new drummer Bastek can pummel, machine-gun jar, roll and blast, all with about the same tightness and intensity helps matters. If air drumming is not the only thing you are good at, try following Kali’s leads. While originally appearing to veer out of control, they are spot on technically and ultimately make sense (Self-Inflicted Divinity, Total Annihilation). Vomitous vocals supported by the nutty gang screams complete the picture of this human depravity. Production made to appear as if you are at the underground live performance where sound engineer actually knew what he was doing, allows to both let your inhibitions go imagining you were there, while not receiving a headache from the monstrous buzzsaw coming right at you constantly.

Bestial Mockery, Nocturnal Fear and Wastelander fans, as well as all those whose brains are filled with visions of Mad Max apocalypses and whose faces are covered with gasmasks, this music is for you.

I'd almost forgotten about this release. Righteous album.
