my album of 09!

awesome review.

It's going to take some killer releases in 2010 to top this.

I don't know, I have a hunch that the black metal/experimental/alternative fans won't appreciate this. Especially not those who is seemingly unable to enjoy any thrash that isn't Megadeth or Slayer. No offense by the way.

I have to admit, that I like it.

But is it the thrash album of the year? To be honest, I can't even say what the thrash album of the year should be, because there were so many great albums from bands like Warbringer (!), Kreator, Artillery, Blood Tsunami, Slayer, Suicidal Angels (!), Vektor (!), Megadeth and also the Sacrifice.

Thanks for the disclaimer to make that politically correct. I listen to thrash but this album just didn't do much for me. It's better than Slayer, Warbringer and most of Endgame, but then again that isn't saying much.

Listened to this a couple of times and I like it, but not enough to say it's thrash album of the year. I think some of the songs might take a little bit though. Sure beats the heck out of Endgame though.

I was planning on doing that, but I have a shitload of promos to get out of the way before the year ends.

Just make sure that you do Soldiers of Misfortune as a classic.

This one I missed when it was released.
I wondered if the opinions of those who praised it then have changed since?

I admit that 94 was probably a bit high, but then again I was very impressed by this back then. I still think it's in the high 80's though. Brilliant.

Great stuff! A definite bright spot for the old school scene that was struggling at the time. As always, the riffs absolutely slay from start to finish and the production quality is pure thrash. Urbinati always reminded more of Schmier from Destruction but even more so with this album. His vocals venture into metalcore territory at times, which can be grating, but are still as venomous as ever. A few more spins and I'll probably warm up to them a little more.

After a couple more spins, I'd give it a 90/100. A must buy for all thrashers.
