Xasthur is currently one of my favorite black metal bands, Nocturnal Poisoning and A Gate Through Bloodstained Mirrors are two very great albums. I'm going to definently attempt to check this out soon.

I totally agree with you; NP and AGTBM are two awesome releases; although this one is not as good as the previously mentioned ones, you'll sure like it a lot.

Hey Daniel. I am an extreme power metal fan, but also have a desire for the darkest side of metal as well. Thanks for the multitude of reviews over the past few weeks and for the professional and multitude of responses you give to the various fans out there. The depth and knowledge that you guys have brought has been both intrigueing and allowed us true/power fans to find more bands!

Excellent reviews. Maybe you can do the last Windir review! Only a few new songs (3 i think), but worth the purchase if you are a fan of the work.

As for the Windir album you mention, I suppose you refer to the compilation: Valfar, ein Windir. As soon as I get my hands on it, I'll promise I'll do a review.

I've been getting into Leviathan recently, & Xasthur intrigues me! Whenever I get the money I plan to buy this CD... Great review by the way. :wink:

I just finished listening to this CD(I finally got it) and this is my new favorite Xasthur album. I havn't heard "Funeral of Being," which may be better, but that doesn't factor in now.

I've been listening to this one a lot lately and it has grown in me a lot; excellent album.

Malefic shows no signs on slowing down, let us hope he continues creating high quality albums like this one.

Yeah, this is the only CD i have from xasthur, and I like it, except hte production is weird, not in a bad way though.

This album is fuckin killer the song "Slaughtered Useless Beings In A Nihilistic Dream is very good" and "Cursed Revelations" fuckkk it's one of the best evil songs that I have listened in all my fuckin lifetime, this band togheter with Leviathan are the best in the U.S.

Yeah, I love this band too. I was caught completely off guard the first time I heard the split album with Nortt. Definitely something I wouldn't normally like, but I ended up loving it. I still need to get more Xasthur.
