I don't think the older albums were that bad as I am attempting to demonstrate by the posting of two particular highlights from his past discography. (IMO at least) Good review though. :dio:

He's fast but i find his playing to be incredibly boring, i'd rather listen to Steve Vai.

That's probably because Vai is a god and Batio is only fast :D Atleast IMO.

I enjoy more soulful melodic playing like in Neal Schon's and Gary Moore's solo albums myself. I can't stand listening to these types of players simply because they're ridiculously fast. It's always sounded sterile and silly to me.

Which makes those who prefer him over Steve Vai all the more retarded.

+1, albums like Passion and Warfare have a lot of variation, like Satch.

My go-to shredmeister is Paul Gilbert. He manages to put feeling and melody into even his fastest solos.

Fair review, though I think Yngwie CAN actually write songs. Thats why Yngwie >>> Michael Angelo Batio x 1000

Paul Gilbert is amazing, although all I heard was Technical Difficulties, it's really awesome instrumental stuff.
