...Yeah, I'm not too crazy about this one.

LaBrie just seems to get more annoying with each successive release. I don't know how he can get much more annoying than that pompus nasally whine during the chorus of Constant Motion.

And this whole CD seems pretty underwhelming overall. :\

I'm not sure what made me say this when I first heard it a long while back. Seriously, this is a great album.

The first half of In The Presence Of Enemies Part I is powerful.

With any Dream Theatre album there's that initial feeling of disappointment, a kind of that's all it is? boredness. Once you keep listening and get into the songs, however, you soon realise that it's a collection of some of the best musicians in metal making great, catchy music. Labrie is an acquired taste, but it wouldn't be DT without him.

I've heard the first seconds of the opening solo and I was hooked, when it was released. This was really Dream Theater, while Train of Thought was a little bit too much straight (Thrash) Metal.

I prefer Train of Thought. Not say SC is bad, personally, I just don't enjoy it quite as much.

Oh, and Thrash? Me thinks not.

yeah, some great moments on this album though. In the presence of enemies I and II and the ministry of lost souls are great.

Yeah, I prefer ToT. Sometimes the copious amounts of shred on ToT can wear me down a bit, but all the songs on that album are top notch.

SC has a couple songs I'm not too crazy about (Constant Motion, which is still good, and Prophets Of War, which isn't that great at all), but the rest is solid.

For me "In the Presence of Enemies" is one of the best longtracks from DT.
