It's hardly the old-school Death of SOANM, is it, though? And Obsolete was groovier.

I am correct in thinking that this is the first time they've ever had a guitar solo, right? Is that really such a little thing?

Oh, the latter stuff is way groovier, but Demanufacture was still pretty groovin'.

Not sure about the solo. But would that be a big deal? In fact, if anything it should be a negative. Solos are great, but why now? Why solos after so long? Because they're cool again?

Maybe because it's something they haven't done before and want to try something new?

I've heard lots of good things about this album... I'll need to check it out.

I'm still not all that impressed. Probably not going to really be listening to this, honestly. I'll just give Obsolete another spin. Maybe their effort after this will be a little more pleasant.

The time you two wasted whining because you don't like Fear Factory, you could have spent checking a new band out, like October File or Orange Goblin. I am disappoint.

Industrial music is really hard to understand, isn't it?

Orange Goblin, boring? Hmph. Nothing pleases our young people any more except chaos and depravity. No wonder the world burns.

Yes more bands need recycled rock riffs, wah pedals and characterless vocals. Bring back the good old days!

Orange Goblin have been around since 1995.

Oh man that means Primus wrote a song about them!

In the year of our Lord
Call it 1994
A fine vintage of mimicry
There are those that take their sound
From someone else's Toil
Liking to parrots you see
I've seen the likes of Kate Bush
And Van Morrison
Teaching the parrots to sing
Take a Zepplin riff
And you alter it a bit
And make lots of money
It's called plagiarism
You want some of that cheese
Just take a big ol' bite
Careful not to choke on it please
Now here we go
It's called plagiarism

That's true I'm a pretty big fan of some unoriginal music. Can't deny that "Trio of Doom" would be a really cool doom band name.
