Misery Index/Magrudergrind

I felt bad for Misery Index, because after Magrudergrind everyone was completely moshed-out.

So I plan on seeing Cattle Decapitation in Indianapolis, Columbus and Northern Kentucky. JFAC, Whitechapel, Revocation and some band named Gaza which sound really cool according to the description are some of the other bands. The shows are a few weeks apart and not that long of drives. I'm stoked; I just hope the bill is a little more evenly split since the lack of a definite headliner.

Went to a friend's undergraduate recital yesterday. One of the pieces was based on Wittgenstein's Tractatus. Not sure if want.

What kinda music was it?

Also just noticed, Ragnarok and Winterfylleth playing in Leeds in April. April is rammed with good gigs... hope I can get my act together to see some of them.

Oh god why would you want to listen to "state of affairs is the world, and the world is made of facts, the state of affairs are groupings of facts"?

There was a voice sample playing quotes from it through the piece, actually. And the climax was a soprano singer singing quotes in German. Nowadays smart person music is weird.

Sounds quite funny, that. Right about that last part.

ZOMG

This tiny venue near me that hardly seems to advertise properly has Nachtmystium on in about a week. Very glad I suddenly got a mysterious urge to look at its upcoming listings.

Hammerfall / Powerglove - The Republik, Calgary, AB

Yes, you heard it right .. the band is named after a Nintendo accessory and plays power metal. How's that for clever? Actually they play geek themed (e.g. Power Rangers, Optimus Prime, Mario) power metal interspersed with video game effects. They don't take themselves seriously at all, which is absolutely a requirement when you sing about Power Rangers. Fun band, good drummer, average sound, average costumes.

Hammerfall did not disappoint. The crowd was VERY loud and responsive for its size. I believe this is one of the few concerts where everyone I could see was shouting the band's name during the frequent Hammerfall chants. Joacim Cans has a great voice and is also a very entertaining frontman - humorous, relevant and doesn't take any crap from the audience! Like any true A-list band, the musicianship and sound were top notch. Recommended anytime.

Pentagram is going to be here in May and I'm not even going to go see 'em probably. Take that DW! I might though after I check out an album or so.

March 30 or April 1 would be closer right? Zebulon Pike is awesome too.
