Pazza Inter. Absolutely amazing game by the nerazzurri. I knew it wouldn't be easy for Barca since Inter is so much better defensively than for example Arsenal, but never could I have imagined this. They showed no respect for Barcelona, the way that they did in the group phase. I would never have guessed they'd be able to turn the game around after the first goal but the level of confidence they seemed to play with was impressing to behold.

The second leg will be absolutely breathtaking. Gotta love football.

Somehow Bayern - Lyon felt less arousing than Inter - Barca. I wonder why :D

Really wasn't a bad game however. 1 - 0 at home should mean Bayern has the advantage, but Ribery being suspended is a harsh blow. At the moment Robben is on fire though so I think Bayern has a slight edge over Lyon.

Bayern - Inter for the final? I wonder who would have imagined that would even be a possibility when the group stage was on. :D

That does seem like a possible final. It would also mean that the two teams with the greater fighting spirit and guts would play the final, which is something I'd heartily applaud.

Ribery's red card was understandable, but also totally uncharacteristic for him. Must be frustration from that prostitution scandal acting up. Toulalan, however, what an idiot. Two yellow cards within a few minutes of eachother really indicates a lack of respect.

On a related note, what do you all think of Robben this season?

It's probably the best signing of the year IMO, to score in crucial moments against Fiorentina, Man U, Lyon in the scope of three CL-clashes is quite an accomplishment. And he's been great in the leauge as well, scoring some spectacular goals.

Robben is in fantastic shape, can't wait to find out how he's going to perform in South-Africa. He's fantastic when paired up with Ribery on the flanks, and he also showed yesterday that he can handle his own, too. Nearly as omnipresent as Messi, by the way, with four goals in eight matches.

I think you'll do great in the WC. It's a shame that your defense isn't really on pair with your attack, but I think Robben, Sneijder, van Persie, and Kuyt will put this summer's tournament on fire. As long as Robben can stay away from getting injured.

Sneijder has been great at Inter as well.. he has really been impressing me a lot.

You're lucky that they're not stuck in Madrid though. :D Then they'd probably have been totally out of shape for this years WC.

A bit disappointed with today's game, Lyon never proved it's worth, and the game was over after the first goal.

Tomorrow will make up for it though. Game of the year, without a doubt. :D

SPORT LISBOA E BENFICA... CAMPEÃO! 32 TITLES!

last night Benfica defeated Rio Ave 2-1 in Lisbon to become champions, and it was amazing. i wish i could've been in Lisbon to celebrate, but i still had a party here in Monterrey (drunk from 2pm to midnight, awesome).

Image
200.000 fans celebrate the title in the centre of Lisbon, which has less than 600.000 residents

i hope this marks the end of the Porto era. From 1995 to 2009, they won all but 4 titles. this season, Benfica played like the team that it should never have stopped being. let's hope they can keep it up in the future.

We tried to do that move near the end by Edgar Davids for hours with my friends.

if someone can do it, it's him.

and on Inter's victory: they did eliminate the two strongest teams in Europe, Chelsea and Barcelona. i have to hand it to them, they were amazing in Europe this year.
