Great review of a great album. I definitely agree with you on pretty much all points. It's a shame Tuonela seems to be overlooked or underappreciated as far as Amorphis albums go. The title track is one of my favorite Amorphis songs, along with The Way and Rusty Moon. :dio:

This a great album by Amorphis. The change in style from Elegy to Tuonela is obvious, but the music is still so good, that it does not matter. And I agree this is the best album by them with this type of style, I did not enjoy Am Universum or Far from the Sun as much. Now their last three releases are all awesome.

This is one of my brother's favorite albums of all time. We have quite a few bands in common (we used to listen to all of the same things years back, slowly our tastes started to diverge), but I never gave this band a shot. I'll have to give it a shot now, I have no reason not to. :dio:

Still haven't heard this though Tales.. is still my favourite Amorphis album. Am Universum sucked hard though, one of the most boring albums I've ever heard.
