Speaking of underappreciated Doom, Goatlord's "Reflections of the Solstice" is probably THE ultimate classic, bar none, when it comes to Doom/Death Metal, yet most people (even seasoned doomsters) don't know this formidable record. Atmospheric and raw with a distinct Hellhammer influence it should rightfully be savored by Doom, Black and Death Metal fans alike, but very few even know it. It's a shame, really.

Under rated bands huh..Well here a just a couple in my opinion..

Seventh Wonder- amazing band I just found out about and have been blown away by the talent.
Enchant- I know many prog fans know them but they imo are vastly underrated
