Well, You've got me convinced.

The amount of times you've told me to get an album that I ended up not liking can be counted on one hand (it HAS happened though....) so I think this is now a purchase.

I'm thinking hard but can't come up with it, which one? Altars of Madness?

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Though, to be fair, I kinda like that one too. The tracks kind of start melting into eachother towards the end, and I never really spin it, but I don't hate it.

So the track record is pretty good.

Having heard half this, I am leaning more towards DevWal's take on it. Sorry, Thom - Aleksie's score seems fairer.

Wow 65 is VERY low.

I would say 85.

Exhibit B is much much better than the predecessor.

PS.: And when Overkill and Heathen get 96 and 95 it should get 98, because Exhibit B is IMO even better than these two albums.

Woahwoah

Ironbound is like the best thrash album of the last 10 years. Exhibit B is good, but let's not say things we are going to regret in the future.

After the first listening sessions I wasn't thrilled, because the songs are very long, the riffing is a little bit boring and the singing too BUT then it got better and better and there were coming some real good songs too the surface. Now I think the first 6 songs are all great and the rest are not so bad either.

I don't know what's so funny. :P

I would rate them: Exodus 85, Overkill 84, Heathen 75

This album needs more spins, because it's a damn grower. It maybe sound boring, but it's IMO because the songs are very long and the riffs are repetitive. I would start listening first only to Downfall and Hammer of Life. If you know this too much, then move to the opener and Beyond the Pale and Class Dismissed. You have to go through the torture of listening this until it comes out of your ears, but there will be a point when it makes click and you are headbanging from the beginning to the end. :D

And never trust the first impression, because often the catchiest albums are not always the best, while the complex ones can growing with the time.

For as much as I defnd this album I think Downfall is a pretty shitty song. Yet that's the one everybody seems to like.

Are you serious? This is simple thrash metal, you won't need three weeks for it to click. Either it does upon the 5-6 couple of spins or it doesn't.

Simple thrash? Demonica is simple thrash, new Soulfly is simple thrash, last Slayer is simple thrash, but this is not as simple as it seems. These are mostly all seven minute overlength thrash epics which are need time to show their class. The riffs are sounding similar but they are not. There's some kind of hypnotic effect like on old Darkthrone stuff... (all IMO)

Ok, maybe it's simple thrash  but it's very cool, brutal, fast and headbanging! :dio:

Heathen is maybe more complex, but that's the problem. I've listened to Evolution of Chaos many times, but compared to Exodus it didn't made click.

Lame album. But then again, I had no expectations.

I have yet to get this, but they've got like 70% of the album on myspace, and so far I like what I hear.
