Anyone know who Maiden have brought in to support them on their European Tour this summer to replace Heaven & Hell?

Wow! *spins Omega Telocvovim for the first time in half a decade* I had no idea they were still around.

Oh they sure are! You should check out Black Church and Nef.Vi.Lim by these lads, if you already havent.

I haven't. That is the plan now that Omega Teocvovim reminded me how good they are!

Going to see Metallica in November at Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne!

Never thought I'd bother going seeing them but then I thought why not. At least I'll be able to compare them to Megadeth as to which one is the better live act.

Don't go to many live local gigs mainly cause there isn't nearly any where I live and I need to get on to a plane to go see one.

Local metal scene used to be good but it's disappeared over the last few years.

Did you get them from ebay or legit? I thought they were sold out.

I think I'd put Megadeth over Metallica. Mustaine just played straight through and rocked all the songs out while Metallica was awesome yet at times there was a note that would make you cringe and realize it's not '83 anymore.

I saw Megadeth and Slayer last year(the gig where Tom Araya blew his vocal chords) and Megadeth were phenomenal. Dave Mustaine is definitely a great show man.

So Metallica have a lot to live up to.

The Mountain Goats were awesome. Their songs are a lot more rockin and energetic live which I like more than just being chillaxed acoustic stuff.

A bit late, but I saw Public Enemy last week. In a word, awesome.

The crowd was very supportive, and you could tell they were having fun up there. I don't know if Terminator X is back with them (I don't think so) but Keith Shockley from the Bomb Squad was more than a suitable replacement.

What surprised me the most was how much was live instruments. They had a full band - bass, guitar and drums. At times it sounded totally like a James Brown funk jam (who was also great live the one time I saw him).

Anyways - they are great showmen and very gracious. Chuck D is as political as ever. The only so-so part was Flave did a bit of peace/love/y'all speech at the end of the show, but considering they played for 2 1/2 hours I can forgive him.

Oh and the opening act .. sheesh. Juiceboxxx? The guy is like a cross between Mick Jagger and Napolean Dynamite. He should change his name to Mick Dynamite.

At 1:40 it starts getting weird. You know the opener sucks when the headliner starts setting up before your song is done. Lol.

Going to a festival this weekend. Will see, among other things, The Prodigy, Rammstein, Sepultura, Heaven Shall Burn, Eluveitie, Dillinger Escape Plan, Coheed & Cambria, The Hives, Hot Water Music, Killswitch Engage, Porcupine Tree, and Hatebreed.

Woohoo.

I think they'll take them to heart.

Its hard not to be impressed by their chops, and they're innoffensive anyway. They're not one of these love-them-or-hate-them bands, most metalheads seem to think they're ok.

Uhh... Yeah. I'm more excited about The Prodigy and Rammstein, but sure. HIM are playing there as well, is this an opportunity to score some adolescent goth pussy?

For the first part, you would. For the second part, that's sad even if it is tongue in cheek.
