We all know Internet shouldn't be taken too seriously but
can we at times have conversations without having someone always trying to get attention and derailing threads just for the sake of it.

Regardless of whether the thread originally had merit, Legacy started the ad-hominem attacks. Is it really rocket science to just disagree with the OP without resorting to name-calling?

Well, back in the 70's, sure there were some kickass tunes, but it wasn't all kick ass all the time; yes, you had Rainbow, Deep Purple, ZZ, Zep, UFO, Halen, Elton John, The Who, Stones, Heart, Edgar Winter, GFR, Pat Travers, Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, Allman Brothers, Dylan, Neil Young, Aerosmith, The Police, Nugent and so on... also, you had Bowie, Mott The Hoople, The Tubes, T-Rex, Sweet etc. (which is good)... all the old british invasion bands making an appearance now and then... you even had a little AM Gold to lighten things up a bit: America, Todd Rundgren, blahblah. These are just a few of the bands that I remember getting a lot of airplay; on the other hand you had Cheap Trick, REO Speedwagon, Foreigner, Journey, Styx, The fucking Knack, and a whole slew of other lame acts gaying up the FM airwaves.
But I do agree that overall, the radio fare of yesteryear was better than that of today.
