The former was an unknown band to me before this, apparently a somewhat successful Canadian band that dabbled from blues to prog rock while taking hints from eastern musical styles and industrial alike. After listening their original, Nevermore has added a sweet Nile-esque acoustic intro while upping the heavy metal-factor of the rest to create a disturbingly quirky number, where most notably the combo of the keyboards and riffs in the opening remind me of Awake-era Dream Theater
First of all, the acoustic intro
was not added by Nevermore it's part of the original. You probably listened to the video or radio single which doesn't contain the intro.
Second, The Tea Party was huge here in Canada. It also had quite a following in Australia and some parts of Europe where they toured often. Not to be disrespectful, but a little fact checking would be great before writing fallacies.
Good call on that intro-thing, in that case I indeed heard a radio version of the song. Corrected and cheers.
To otherwise offer a lil' rebuttal concerning fact checking which I am a great supporter of, I certainly looked into the band's background, especially because I'd never heard of them, and I'd dare say that "somewhat successful", as generally as I was using the term and with all due respect to your national scene, is quite an adequate synonym for "huge in Canada" and the additional territories, wouldn't you agree?

In comparison, I'd surely use the same definition for bands that are huge in Finland and for example, central Europe but not a big name globally, in the standards of the metal scene that is. Nitpickery for sure on my part but as a language student, I found "fallacies" a little harsh when all we're dealing with in my mind besides the intro-claim is a question of perception, not fact. Just thought I'd hit that volley, no harm
