Place Of Skulls are in the studio!

Yo, Angra fans:

Someone give me the lowdown on these guys. It's the original Angra singer's new band, the Soulfly to the rest's Sepultura, right? Worth listening to?

Matos got kicked out of the band and is no longer the frontman.

Yeah, Matos is no longer in Shaman, but Zad, you should check out his solo work when you have the time. It's surprisingly good.

Anyway, never was that wild about Shaman myself, but I might give this a listen anyways. It's totally overshadowed by the new Angra album though.

"Faster and more turbulent than it's predecessor"...fucking hell, this is going to be some furious music.

New Volbeat in September, called "Beyond Hell/Above Heaven", with guest vocals by Mark "Barney" Greenway and Mille Petroza!

What do you know about this Goat? The kind of thing you'd probably have mentioned but I don't recall. Got this album from Relapse.

The High COnfessions - Turning Lead into Gold with the High Confessions

Quote:
THE HIGH CONFESSIONS, the highly-anticipated new group featuring Chris Connelly (MINSTRY, REVCO.), Steve Shelley (SONIC YOUTH), Sanford Parker (MINSK) and Jeremy Lemos (WHITE/LIGHT), unveil their first-ever recording “Turning Lead into Gold with The High Confessions”. “Turning Lead into Gold…” sees these multi-faceted musicians bring forth a swirling, ominous, droning post-rock that vacillates between a wide-range of textures and moods. Sometimes trance-inducing, sometimes uplifting, “Turning Lead into Gold…” is an evocative post-rock record that draws on the diverse and engaging musical heritage that the band’s personal histories would suggest.

Not that keen on the myspace sample, tbh...

lol I like how they were too lazy to write out the whole album title even in the press release.

Not to mention a new Septicflesh and Morbid Angel soon, sounds like another stellar year for the music.
