Yo, Angra fans:

Someone give me the lowdown on these guys. It's the original Angra singer's new band, the Soulfly to the rest's Sepultura, right? Worth listening to?

Matos got kicked out of the band and is no longer the frontman.

Yeah, Matos is no longer in Shaman, but Zad, you should check out his solo work when you have the time. It's surprisingly good.

Anyway, never was that wild about Shaman myself, but I might give this a listen anyways. It's totally overshadowed by the new Angra album though.

The first Shaman album is a masterpiece. Tobi sings on a couple songs and Matos sounds better than any Angra album... That's a stretch. Just check it out.

Not a fan of the first Shaman... No way it is better than Holy Land and Fireworks.

Fireworks is a fantastic album... I don't get why so many call it Angra's worst.

I think it's my favourite in their entire discography. The one where they slowed things and tried some new tricks. And I love Chris Tsangarides' production too.

For the love of god, Enslaved, pick up the pace on at least some of your tracks.

Despite having some great moments, the last two albums often put me to sleep.

Still...a major event, to say the least!

Not to mention a new Septicflesh

Not until early 2011 I'm afraid.

some pretentious prat in Septicflesh wrote:
"The creation of the 10 songs that will appear on the next album is approaching the final stage. The musical result can be described as a great mass of emotional death. One of the dominant elements of the album is the use of the characteristic guitar melodies of the band in a more intense and dramatic way. In combination with the orchestral parts that will surpass everything else that the band has done in the past, the sound resembles to a funeral concerto. Actually, it appears that the whole atmosphere of the album is one step closer to the depths of Hades… Also, as actually SEPTICFLESH is in the wider sense an artistic dark experiment, the nightmarish visual world of Seth Siro Anton that is part of this experiment is going to be expanded towards extremity in order to 'dress' fittingly the soundscapes and the new mysterious lyrical thematology."

New Grave Digger, "The Clans Will Rise Again", in October.

Also, new Alcest to be recorded in January-February, according to Neige.

I'm mostly looking forward to the latter.

Rather dull artwork for the bans I'm afraid, it reeks of similarities to the horrible Brain drill. I'm sure the music however, will be great as usual

It looks almost exactly like that last Hour of Penance album. Swapping genders on that quicksilver devil is basically the only difference.

I don't know if anybody still cares about them but Flotsam & Jetsam have a new album coming up after five years. It's on Brian "Head" Welch's label, I sincerely hope that will not affect the music.

Out on September 14th.
