Yeah i mean if your only exposure to Power Metal is Kamelot, Sonata Craptica, Rhapsody, etc. i can see how you could hate the genre but c'mon bands like:

Blind Guardian
Jag Panzer
Virgin Steele
Lost Horizon
Agent Steel
Persuader
Running Wild
Nightingale
Early Iced Earth
Crimson Glory
Falconer
Gamma Ray
Early Helloween
Metal Church
Early Nocturnal rites

Clearly there is more to the genre than ultra fruity gay stuff, fuck even Dio could be considered Power Metal on some albums, and just for the record i have nothing against the cheesy flowery side of Power Metal other than i think that most of it suck ass.

Jag Panzer deserves to be on this list?

I dunno most of that stuff is just pretty boring to me, personally. I kinda used to be into power metal back when I was getting into metal and I've had my rounds with just about all those bands, even have a few BG, Iced Earth, Gamma Ray, Primal Fear, and Helloween albums... But it's just not my thing.

I like Kamelot quite a bit as an exception. They've really kinda made their sound a bit more interesting than most power metal bands since Black Halo. Plus Roy Kahn has a sick voice.

Absolutely, Jag Panzer kicks ass and Harry Conklin is the perfect example of a PM vocalist with an actual powerful voice.

Not really. I mean are we talking like Priest/Accept kinda heavy metal? That's about as deep as I get into the genre to be honest.

There are tons of awesome Heavy Metal bands you should try.
Just a simple example with Brocas Helm's Skullfucker.

I enjoy both "legit" and "cheesy/flowery" power metal bands. *shrug*

I"m not a huge power metal fan
but I like bands like Kamelot, Angra, Evergrey and Kiuas
who don't stick to simple power metal, they mix other elements
of extreme metal or prog or folk etc..
Which makes them much more interesting and keeps things fresh
much longer.

Three.
Sometimes, I'm in the mood for something fruity but, most of the time, I'm not.

Cool, see the list was actually aimed at Heavy Metal fans who may have a preconception that all Power Metal is gay, if you dont like Heavy Metal i wouldnt recomend those bands too you.

I enjoy the odd nu metal song but I couldn't be bothered listening to a whole album. Except for that there's not really a metal genre I'd say I hated.
