Wow. This was fucking hard. I tried thinking back to those years and picking what I listened to the most. My current list would be different because I'm bored of some of them but this is pretty close to how I'd answer if I was asked back in those years.

Did 2009 slay or what? I don't know if it is because it is the year I remember the most, but it was the hardest one to pick from. 2003 and 2004 were also amazing years. 2002 is the weakest year in this decade.

I found I was much more spoiled for choice as it got later in the decade. Maybe that's because I was paying a lot more attention towards the end than I was at the beginning, rather than because it necessarily was better.

This got a lot harder from 2003 on because Akimbo and The Mars Volta started releasing great albums on a yearlyish basis. Would've been a lot harder if I hadn't tried to keep it somewhat metal oriented. Weird how despite listening to oodles of obscure and awesome music I still went with fairly well known stuff most of the time!
